Today we interogat…*ahem* INTERVIEW another of our esteemed physiotherapists in the Balmoral Physio network as part of our Meet The Team series. Every few weeks, we’ll showcase a different member of our squad across the network of clinics and help you get to know them a little better.

From the Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield clinics…everyone, meet Sean Dykes!

Why did you choose to go into physiotherapy?

Through experience of physiotherapy during adolescence. Having broken a couple of bones during my teenage years, I was referred for physiotherapy and remember being really impressed by the physiotherapist’s knowledge of human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics.

What areas of physiotherapy have you worked in?

NHS; Professional Sports; Private Practice and Occupational Health

If you were a biscuit, what would you be?

A Digestive!

Do you have a favourite quote?

“You can lead the league in effort because it takes no talent. It’s a decision you make.”

(Jon Gruden)

What has been your greatest personal achievement?

Surviving parenthood!

What is your mantra?

Every day is a school day; you can’t know everything but doesn’t mean I don’t try to!

Most pointless talent?

Most would argue that any talent I possess is pointless!

What are your simple pleasures?

Watching sports, spending time with the family, baking ( and eating the products of the baking!)

You’re cooking for three dinner guests – who would they be and what would you cook?

In no particular order:

  • Andy McNab
  • Sir Alex Ferguson
  • Rhod Gilbert

Has to be steak and chips!

Thanks Sean! Check back in a few weeks’ time to see the next Meet The Team candidate!
